Cause theres always a chance of hitting the "big one" and winnig alot of money. Just think about it, what if you spent a doller or two on a lottery ticket, then win $30,000,000?

i have won many times the most i put out is 3 dollars a month on lottery

they think that eventually luck will hit them and the amount $$$ will over compensate for money spent previously thus justifying the money wasted on non winning tickets.
