George Bush is a good president. He cares. The Katrina disaster was largely caused by the hugeness of the storm, I mean really - I went down and cleaned up after the mess - it was too huge to imagine. Kanye West was an *** for what he did. He's just another bigot with a microphone wanting some attention.

After that, it's the LA Governor's fault. I think Mayor Ray Nagin did all he could and was just overwhelmed. But the Governor just disappeared for four days. I think she figured the feds were going to take care of everything, went on a "Hurricane Binge", and had to sober up before making a public appearance.

The criminal gangs complicated things as well as the assorted jerks and nuts among the stay-behind population. Disarming the common folks who went into the Super Dome let that situation get entirely out of hand. Horrible, horrible things happened in there.

Ultimately, there was just no way to quickly respond to the level of destruction that occurred in a manner sufficient for the number of people who stayed behind. Overall the people of New Orleans made this disaster, by refusing to acknowledge the inevitability of such a storm coming ashore on top of them, and through the corruption over the years of the officials and contractors who could have made a difference. George Bush did all he could, all anyone in his position could.

And yep, I imagine he was trying to kiss up all he could at that meeting. He's a politician, right?

It is easy to give into the race card, as Kanye didn't hesitate to pull. The fact is that acts like Katrina were a failure on many levels, including the democraticly dominated government of New Orleans. To point the finger directly at the President is an immature response to a serious situation.

Some Democrats have gone as far to compare the slow evacuation of Lebanon to Katrina. Ironically, the main responsibility there falls on the state department, which is a cash crop of Democrats over the past 50 years. Any blame there by left-wing libbies will have a boomerang effect. They know it - they just hope most of the American public doesn't.

Well, to put forth the the fact when the first time he was elected, what scene they had portrayed in the parliament against all colored judges of high courts was a proof big enough. No doubt he's an idiot of the first order. Have seen a lot of his interviews where he jus stands in front of the media, with the dumb look on his face, when he doesn't know what to say and then answers something stupid. There are very few people who make fool out of themselves, a lot fewer who do that on TV, and really nearly extinct who happen to be presidents and know that the whole world is watching them, still don't deny doing it on TV. Well, I guess that explains all.

I think the President does care. I also think that Kanye really believes that the President does not care. If you need to know how much the President cares then find a President that has had two African American Secretaries of State.

Uh, people forget about Condaleeza Rice and Colin Powell. On what basis, other than Kayne West would anyone think such a thing.
By the way, I don't agree with Bush on many issues.

Yes, he is a compassionate man. But he does not go out of his way to help African-Americans, nor realize that Republicans will need some of their votes in 06 and 08. But he probably cares more about making big businesses and the rich happy, than doing things to stop discrimination, crime, or poverty.

I think Bush is out of touch with the plight of the black male in this country. Matter of fact, I think many black people are out of touch with the plight of the black male. Right now, the state of black men in this country is in a serious state of crisis! Murder, and other heinous crimes are rampant. Where are the outraged black leaders in this country? Why isn't anyone doing anything about this? When will many black males in this country learn that crime doesn't pay? Why are more black males in prison than in college? Why? Why? Why?

He did everything but kiss their collective @ss in the NAACP speech. "Slavery is a stain that has yet to be removed." Wake the f*ck up it has been 40 years and the entitlement is over

If they are rich, yes he does care. The tax cuts gave people with incomes over $1 million a 5.7% boost in after tax income. Unfortunately, if you are poor, he loves you a bit less, the poorest fifth just got a 0.3% boost from the tax cuts.

Do blacks care about blacks? I don't think so, more blacks kill other blacks...than whites or any other race.

I think Bush likes blacks just fine. To be honest I bet he has 10 or 12 of them working at his ranch in Texas. No question of it I am sure.
