You've got a couple issues here; let's tackle them one at a time.

It is not possible to protect ideas but rather the representation of that idea.

COPYRIGHTS:
For the content -- You can do this at the US Copyright Office – see the last 3 links in the source box. The application is fairly simple & the cost is $45 per application. Be sure to read what the US Copyright Office has to say about Online Works.

Despite what others state, a "poor man's" copyright is NOT the same as registering it. Here's what the US Copyright Office has to say:

"The practice of sending a copy of your own work to yourself is sometimes called a 'poor man’s copyright.' There is no provision in the copyright law regarding any such type of protection, and it is not a substitute for registration."

TRADEMARKS:
For the images(logos), names, slogans, etc. -- To register a trademark, contact either your Secretary of State for a State trademark or the US Patent & Trademark Office for a Federal trademark.

If you are only conducting business in one state, then a State trademark is most appropriate. If you conduct business in at least 2 states OR between the US & any other country, you can file for a Federal trademark.

Prior to investing your time, money & effort into a name, it is strongly advised that comprehensive research be conducted to ensure that the name you're interested in is truly available.

This entails searching the pending & registered Federal and State trademark files as well as the US National Common-Law files. Then, if clear, you can decide if you would like to file for a Federal or a State trademark.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Well, put on each page "Copyright 2006". If you want to be anal about it, you can say that the content, layout, images, and videos are all copyright protected. There isn't some official application or anything like that that you need to do to copyright something. Although, if it comes down to a dispute, you may want to have your website content saved to a disk so that you can prove at what DATE you created your content. Digital forensics will be able to determine the exact date to make sure there wasn't tampering with the disk.

Even if you copyright the site what are you going to do if some visitor from some other country to your site copies your images for personal use.
If the copied images are used /posted again you might get some action by complaining to the host on which the website with stolen images is hosted , but it might just be a waste of time and money .
bots from search engines will come and download and cache your data/images on their servers. You can stop their bots from crawling your site/parts of your site. But then you are bound to lose some of your visitors who might visit your site through search engines.
If you are so concerned you should not publish your images/data on the net and should keep them under lock and key from other peoples vision.

I think that anything published is copy-written by default (in the USA). Meaning that you don't have to do anything special to have your site copywritten, and you can sue anyone who copies from it.

Same thing about anything that's printed, or broadcasted. A newspaper article, book and song are copy-written in the same way, as long as they've been published, and you can prove they've been published.

Of course, people will copy from you anyways. They will copy less from sites of large companies because those have a huge legal department and can sue their pants off, while you probably don't have those means.
