It is not so simple that it can be answered for you. You need to take lessons...find an agent...go on calls...practice...practice...practice! If you are in school...join the drama club. As for your parents...be open with them!

As with any skill, acting is a learned craft. Take some classes, do plays at your school or local community theatre.

Getting noticed is a whole other ball of wax. Do you want to focus on stage, or are you talking about film? To do film, you need to live in L.A. or New York, as that's where the vast majority of auditions and shoots are.

If telling your parents you "want to be an actress" seems daunting, perhaps just start slowly; tell them you'd like to audition for a play at school or locally, and see what their reaction is.

The bottom line is, unfortunately, that you'll have to have a day job for quite some time before you make any money in theatre or film.

Well, it all depends on one thing: Do you want to be a stage actor or a movie actor? If you wanna be a movie actor, you first have to be ready to face a lot of rejection. Also, it would be much easier to find work if you lived near a major studio, like in LA or New York. And you have to be ready for criticism, scams, insults, and much...MUCH...more. If you just like acting, then get over to the closest audition for the community theater! Once you do your first stage production, it's basically the same thing to do the next! :D Tell your parents by saying, "I really like acting, would it be okay with you if I try out for some roles?" and then listen closely and maturely to everything they say. WHATEVER YOU DO, do NOT storm off to your room if they say, "It's an unstable lifestyle." Trust me on this! Baaaad idea...Get noticed? You get noticed by putting your heart and soul into your acting. BECOME your character, as cliche as it sounds. Acting is not all play and ooo I have a lead part and I'm not even trying! Acting is mostly hard work, preparation, and being able to take rejection as well as do what you're asked to do. Good luck! :D

I'll be blunt. You're no longer going to be a popular actress. The odds are extraordinarily stacked in opposition to you. Go get lunch in LA, and you are going to meet multiple actress/waitress who wishes to be the following celebrity. To be sincere, your odds are even worse. Now that Sandra Bullock is a celeb, she can also be choosy approximately what she does. An actor who has no longer made it enormous takes any and each and every feasible function, hoping to get spotted. If that suggests making a song on a cat meals commericial, you do it. Only being in a single exhibit isn't a well begin. A few popular actors make enormous cash, however the relaxation are not able to even aid themselves with performing. Are you going to be the only in 1 who hits it enormous? Probably no longer. If you cross the scientific monitor, you'll make a well residing. Even in the event you are not able to fairly make it into scientific college, you'll cross to PA college or NP college or get your MSN, and you are going to make a well residing.

ok, in acting, experience is what counts, if anything. education doesnt do much for acting. even a high school play will make a difference. so make sure you enter any kind of drama, or theatre class you can. or pay for drama school. that's what agents are going to look for in you. find an agent. to get noticed, it takes FOREVER. now, im not trying to discourage you, but trust me, you need thick skin for it. at times you might get frustrated. it takes so long to just find a casting and even longer to land the audition and then...the part. so for this, you really have to KNOW that you want it. but it sounds like you do.
as far as your parents go, it really doesn't matter how you tell them. if they dont accept it as it is, then it might take them a while for them to see that that is what you really want. but if you're tough about it and you put in all your effort, then they will learn to respect your decision.
take small steps first.
i hope i was of any help at all. i know you might've already known all this.
i say GO FOR IT!! =)
