I got my ears pierced about a week ago. My right earlobe is kinda swollen and tender. Does that mean my piercing is infected?

Not necessarily.Remember any piercings causes some type of trauma to the skin area. Any responsible person piercing other people will
give you instructions to prevent infections, even give a liquid to disinfect the piercing frequently. If you never cleaned your
ear since your piercing it has a high chance of infection. Look for any discharge,like yellow puss. If there is an funky odor that a big sign of bacteria which is an infection. if there isn't, clean it every few hours. There is a no sting lotion available at the pharmacy. Then put a cold compress on your ear to reduce the swelling. good luck.

if its not infected it sounds like its on its way to being infected, so I would would go and have it checked out ......why wait......this way you can catch it before it gets to bad and get it healed up but if you wait you might end up with a nasty infection that could take awhile to get rid of.

i wouldnt worry just put rubbing achohol on it and twist the earing around do both sides of the ear.

nah it shouldnt be.i just got mine pierced 2 months ago and they r fine now.put hydrogen peroxide on them DAILY.NOT rubbing alcohol.if u do that,they should heal very quickly.mine did

no, make sure you are cleaning it regularly. If you start to see puss or anything like that, or if it stays the same for another week I would see a dr.
