A good rock song?? Well, some simple rock songs that can be easy to get into are bands like: Hoobastank, Linkin Park, Dozer (sweden), and you can't go wrong with classics like Youth Gone Wild (not that old old), When the levee breaks....there are so many good rock songs, you may have to start from way back, maybe the album Toys in the Attic by Aerosmith isn't too far.

Check out something like Rancid, (old)No Doubt, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The HorrorPops, (old) AFI, Ramones, The Clash, Sublime, Wolfmother....
Much more class and talent then Simple Plan - and generally less whiney.

Pandora.com. Create a radio station (free) and add your fav bands. It might take a bit of fine tuning to get exactly the kind of music you want, but once you do it tells you all the bands that sound like that and you can test out all the music before you buy.
