No. I have two, and it was recommended that I put a good moisturiser on it unti the scab disappeared, and to leave it uncovered. The moisturiser shouldn't have Vit E in it either. This can cause it to lose colour.

NO! Here's aftercare....

Your bandage should be left on for at least
2-4 hours, but longer is better (12 hours is ideal). When you
remove your bandage, wash your tattoo with anti-bacterial soap
and water and gently pat dry. ***Do not rebandage tattoo.****
Do not soak your tattoo for two weeks. Wash your tattoo, as above,
when needed, keeping your tattoo as dry as possible. If very
itchy, apply a small amount of a mild non-perfumed moisturizing
cream once or twice a day. Do not use alcohol, Polysporin,
Vaseline or any other oil-based moisturizing products on your
tattoo. Keep tattoo covered from the sun and tanning beds for
the first 4 weeks, after which time use sunblock to protect your
tattoo. The quality of your tattoo depends on how well you take
care of it during the healing process.

Your tattoo needs to breathe...
Just make sure your bedsheets are clean to prevent infections.

don't put a stick free bandage on it. most shops will cover it for you with syran wrap or a stick free bandage that they have. they usually tell you to keep it on for a certain period of time and then you can take it off. Use the cream they told you to use on it and if you are worried about rubbing it...cover it with syran wrap.

Better to put a gauze bandage over the whole thing, but oversize so nothing sticks to it.
