Divide the any dimension of the original by the scale.
For example, a car is 14 feet long, divide it by 18 and you have your scale answer in feet.
Multiply that by 12 for the number of inches in a foot-- and you have your answer in inches.

Each dimension in the model is 1/18 of what it is in the full size version.

1:6 is a common scale size, simple ratio
1 foot in model is equal to 6 feet in reality
so the model of a six foot man would be one foot high

If you divide the actual size by 18 (in this example) you get the smaller version's size & vise versa.
