for some people, i think it is. it is a chance to ridicule and be rude without having to think of the punishment or consequence for doing so. cowardly, to some degree. they hide behind the power of anonymity to attack other's way of life, other's beliefs.
but this is not true for all people. some people here, like me, likes to think that being online and sharing your views with others is a learning experience. it is a way of looking into a culture that is entirely different, racidally to some extent, than our own. i'd like to think that i am accountable for the things i say here, in the same way that i can be held accountable for whatever i say offline to frineds, family, coworkkers...just about anybody

No. The lure of being online is the fact that you don't have to put on makeup, dress and leave the house. You can just relax and do your thing. Naked as it were.

I hold myself accountable for everything that I say. I dont say anything on the internet that I would tell someone in real life. So that would be a no for me.

The social networking sites seem to encourage that ridiculous belief. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as anonymity on the Internet.

My Psychology Professor said it best. when he said " The net is like a fantasy world where people can be, say,and do anything they want, that they wouldn't do otherwise in reality.
