Overall, the movie was visually pleasing. Especially in the 3D IMAX format. However, the story was too similar to the original Superman: The Movie with Christopher Reeve.

Superman Returns - Superman battles Lex Luther, who wants to sink North America and develop new land. Lex also wounds Superman with kryptonite. Superman falls into the ocean, weak from the kryptonite.

Superman: The Movie - Superman battles Lex Luther, who wants to destroy the west coast by having it sink into the ocean. Lex weakens Superman by hanging a kryptonite necklace around his neck. Superman falls into the water (in Lex's train station hide out.)

Many similarities between the two movies. Superman Returns - rescues the downed plane carrying the Space Shuttle. Superman: The Movie - rescues Air Force One, with the President on board.

I almost wanted to call Superman Returns - Superman: The Movie AGAIN.

Absolutely. Any comic book movie that ever comes out till the end of time i'll compare to Batman Begins. I doubt many will hold up.

Completely! And it was already poor and they kept dragging it on. It finally all caught up at the end and that wasn't even good at all. Still made you confused. I was even confused the second time I saw it.
