Trying to figure out how to tow small car w/ pickup for approximately 150 miles. The truck already has a hitch/tow package on it. What other equipment do I need? I don't want to invest a lot of $$ as this is something I don't do on a regular basis, the simplest and most economical method is what I'm looking for.

Go to Uhaul and rent a one-way tow dolly for towing a car. It is built for that purpose and for the distance is safe. Remember that driving on public roads requires that you operate responsibily and not endanger the public while doing it. That includes hauling ot towing items or vehicles on public roads. This AM I saw a fairly new car that had flipped trying to avoid insecured plastic chairs that had blown out of the back of a p/u. Nobody killed but it coukld have been worse than it was.

You already have the receiver hitch, all you need is to tow in in daylight and be safe.

rope ! OK look for a towbar kit (designed for most makes towed behind RV's) not cheap but safe (unlike rope) if front wheel drive or not rated for flat towing (see owners manual) u need a Dolly (set of wheels that you drive the front wheels on and strap it down) if not rated for flat towing on rear wheel drive you can remove or disconnect the driveshaft ( tie it firmly if it drops while towing u are in a world of sh-t) flat towing = with all four wheels 'flat' on the ground

Whether you decide to choose this as the simpleless way to your question or not... you decide.
Go to a Canadian Tire store and buy yourself a
"Tow-Bar", they are CAA approved!
