Theres this kinda wormhole thing in your washer and dryer but it can only take one sock at a time.If you could somehow pass through this wormhole you would find not only all the worlds missing socks but they would be in this huge pile thats acting like a buffer so satilites are not able to actually find whats really there. It's hiding atlantis and it's a thriving city where elvis is there king and hoffa has a little pizza joint on the west side and Amilia Earhardt runs a sewing shop. If you go to the museum you will find Noahs ark And other artifacts that if the rest of this world found out it would rock the foundations of science and religion.
I've been there twice it's really a great place to visit but make sure you stay in the city cause it's surrounded by this place called area 51 and the people there get a little crazy if you go onto there property why I have no idea hell all they got there is a few hangers and little green men they keep traped in this underground bunker(not sure what they did to get locked up like that.) but thats pretty much what happens to those missing socks

I recently purchased a Kenmore Elite HE4t washer. I discovered early on that it can and does eat socks. There is a large rubber gasket to seal the door, and I have found socks hidden beneath the gasket.

No. They probably never made it to the washer in the first place. Check under your bed or couch.

After you leave your laundry room, little gremlins come in, open up the machine and grab a sock at random. Sometimes, if they are in a generous mood, they will weeks later throw it into a laundry basket for you to find and say, "Oh! That's where it is. I guess I just didn't notice it before."

I have no explanation other than the washer or dryer eating them.

There's an underground sock coalition, who does under-cover work for the government.

I have a theory that the socks are actually lost in the dryer.
You know all that lint you pull out of that trap?....
That was your sock.
