I am asian & have only been in usa for less than a yr. I find that womens bottoms they sell in usa stores are cut generously on the hips. Even girls sizes 14 and 16 are cut generously on the hips.

In asia, womens and mens pants are very similar and both womens and mens pants go by waist size and are cut more or less straight.

The clothes are so big in general. I am surprised mens pants start at 28'' waist... mens and womens pants start at 24'' waist in asia.
Womens XS in usa is big too... An XS in usa is a Medium in asia.

Makes it hard for flat asians to find clothes.

Yes. Typical Asian women are porportionally smaller. I used to know someone that sold clothing, she used to sell clothing in Japan and China and she said that she only needed the small sizes because all the women there only fit into the small sizes. And when she came to Canada to sell the clothes, she had to buy a more variety of sizes. And you are right about "Womens XS in usa is big too... An XS in usa is a Medium in asia." When i told my sister to buy me clothes in all XS for me in Hong Kong, she told me that the sizes there are smaller. When I am shopping here in Canada, i have to buy the smallest size everytime.

I think that it is because the majority of the population is Caucasian in the US and Caucasian people tend to be larger and rounder than Asian people.
