None of the above. I would answer the phone. You can't automatically assume what the motives are of the other person at the other end of the phone line are; however, you can let them know that your boyfriend/girlfriend is in the shower right now, but you would be happy to take a message for your boyfriend/girlfriend and give it to them when they get out of the shower. If it is someone with pure motives (maybe reminding them it is there turn to bring in the donuts to the office the next day, etc.) they will leave a message without hesitation. If the person hesitates, refuses to leave their name or starts screaming at me, then I know that I need to have a calm discussion with the person in the shower when they get out and get their reaction to what I tell them is. If they get mad or act guilty, it could be they have something to hide. If not, it could be someone who is interested in your shower buddy, but your shower buddy is not interested in them.

A) Tell them someone called and then just make a simple conversation about the phone call.

A and B. Just because another person of the opposite sex called them, doesn't mean they are cheating on you. They are allow to have friends of the opposite sex. If you feel you can't trust your partner, either talk to them or leave them.

There is no harm in informing them that the phone rang. However, if you were inclined to check the caller ID, I wouldnt be concerned as to who it is. You should always trust your partner unless given reason not to.

most answering machines lets you hear who is leaving the message. I would listen while they leave it then tell my boyfriend they called and left a message. I would trust them till they give me a reason not to trust them.

It's their phone... unless you are living together it is not your phone to answer so it would be B. & A. because you heard the phone ring... so you let them know that it did. This is an opportunity for him or her (if they are close) to say - "Honey you can answer my phone".

A, tell them someone called and if they don't volunteer the info on the person, ask them who they are.

A & B.

Personally, I have TONS of guy friends. So if my boyfriend did that to me, I'd hate that he didn't trust me.
