Alright I love to sing and I hope to become famous off of it what can I do to get there besides American Idol? I have a really good voice (everyone says so at least). Please help me.

well if you have any money saved, there are places in all major cities that charge a small fee to record a song... you need to bring your own music and sing, but its a good start, than put your demo out in the world and let fate do its thing

The Internet isn't really the best place for this kind of question. We have no way of judging your vocal talent, so for all we know, you could sound like a toad being strangled with barbed wire.
Look up a musician/vocal instructor who is willing to teach or help you improve, as for "getting famous off of it", I'm sure you could find some ads for local tryouts in the newspaper. There are other ways, I'm sure, but its pretty late here, and I'm not feeling very creative.

Besides American Idol, there's that show "The One". I think it's for rockers though...

You could always make a tape/Cd recording of you singing and make copies of that and send it to all the recording studios that you can find...radio stations too ask them to play it on the radio...some will do that!

you could try making a demo tape/cd. reputable music studios in your area can help you make one. you can then try sending it to record companies. it would make things easy for you if you can hire an agent. the agent would know how to go about things and make things happen for you. also, try to get as much exposure as you can. sing in community functions, weddings, corporate presentations, etc.
