I live alone. I'm not lonely. I stay too busy for that. I have good friends, a dog for company, the occasional boyfriend and long-distance family. I work *and* go to school. I read, watch TV and walk the dog in my spare time. Sounds to me as if you feel as if you're leading an empty life...
What helps me with boredom is having a regular routine. I know that after work I have to wash my uniform and then I'll walk the dog and watch TV. I get on here, call friends and live my life. After the chaotic life I've led up 'til now, *this* is heaven. Could it be that, for some people, loneliness is a state of mind? I hope you get out of this "funk" you're in... I know how depressing it can feel. Good luck.

Loneliness is an empty feeling. You have a lot of questions about who you are and why you are here. You find you have no ambition to face the world and other people. Your heart feels like a hole in your chest.
Seek out groups of your interests perhaps? Join a gym and meet friends and get some exercise to lift your spirits. Go to school and find new people to talk with about different subjects.
If I were you, I would definately seek a counselor and see if you are in depression. There are alternative ways to help it. Holistic doctors are great for that.

There are many degrees of loneliness, and I think everyone feels it to some extent. It can be a little twinge or a deep agony in the heart. Man was not meant to be alone, and when he is for too long the ache sets in. The key to break through it? Companionship of some kind. Someone needs to come close to you. You have to let them in.

Alone doesn't always mean lonely.
But lonely means you cannot enjoy yourself even if you have bunch of friends and family.
Enjoy yourself, hun. Going to movie alone, try some Uzbekh food (you probably don't know where Uzbekh is but the point is, try something weird).
If it doesn't work, try a psychiatrist !
Peace be with you

Are you talking about being lonely or depressed. Depression can come from cause, lack of lithium or temporary drug induced feelings. Feeling lonely is usually people who are not comfortable being with themselves for one reason or another. We are social creatures but we need to feel confident and be able to be comfortably alone.

Lonely is being alone..solitude...nobody with you...you can be mentally lonely..even if you have people around but not even one person's thinking match yours...then also you will be lonely...no one to support you...
To get out of this..make few friends..go hiking..its real fun...

u just need to get laid to get rid of that lonely feeling. and whatever you do, do NOT take anti-depresants. They contain MDA which is an active ingredient in ecstay, which can put holes in your brain. also users may become dependant and jerkish.

Alone is something you can never be, as long as you are at peace with yourself and who you were.
