Normal saline solution (salt water): You can obtain bottled normal saline, or you can prepare this at home by adding one teaspoon of table salt to one quart or four cups of plain water. For a mouth rinse ordinary table salt can be added to water at say 1 tsp. per cup. This will make a rinse for sore gums and other mouth ailments and sores.
