well i am a junior but i love high school football so i am going to answer anyways, i was also an average joe when i started but i worked my butt off and lifted just about everyother day, give or take when i had stuff goin on, and i became the player that my team needed, and now im looking at a start for my junior year, yes there are players that suck 100 % but that is why other players and the coaches practice with them and teach them, the coaches wont make fun of you, they will teach you. and in football camps and training you will need to be in pretty good shape, i suggest running around a mile a day and doing alot of leg excercises in the weight room or another place, also i would be working on pushups and situps. you can almost count on the fact that they will be part of the camp. another good way to impress the coaches is do alot of bench pressing, the coaches can always tell when you have been benching. i would try to bench your body weight by the end of this season.

Toni,

Thanks for the question.

1) If you enjoy the game you should continue. There have been many players who have played in the NFL due to their determination and commitment rather than natural ability.

2) The players who suck are the ones that don't make the most of the ability.

3) Train hard and learn the plays. You should try to learn as much as possible.

Best wishes for the coming season.

i find myself in the same situtation, no u shouldn't back out, give it all you have and don't quit, of course there will be good players and bad players, but as long as u try ur hardest, u can always be an assett to the team, and i am currently doing a football camp, u will do quite a bit of running, and alot of agility work, as well as drills 4 ur position

first of all def. go out. UR frosh year is the year to try things... we have plenty of kids who totaly suck... its all good...as long as they try hard... And by the way... if u dont like football after ur frosh year u can just quit...dont b afraid to b a solid backup...thats wut i am...i make spot starts and get in during different times during a game...just work hard and coaches will get u in... and things we do in football camps...basically run and do certrain types of drills depending on ur position... im from WI so football isnt that intense... (we have todays from 6-1230) idk wut the rest of u do...but im sure its worse... if u tell me wut position u play i can tell u the types of drills u do and wut u can do to improve before it starts if u like...goodluck!
