3 things I can think of are...
1. Find a good place to eat, and treat yourself at least twice a month. It's good to get away sometimes.
2. Find somewhere quiet to study, it'll save your sanity.
3. Don't burn yourself out, it's easy to do in the first year, pace yourself and don't take everything too seriously.
Good Luck!

-Talk to your professors before or after class to get to know them personally. This will help when your final score is on the border of two grades because they will often round you up. Plus they will be a good resource when you need letters of recommendation.
-Get involved with a group on campus. It will give you an opportunity to meet some really great people. Try to take on a leadership role as well because this will look good on a resume.
-Don't schedule 8 or 9am classes. They suck and it's too early. Even though you went to school early in highschool, it is really hard to do once your in college.
-Take a few classes just for fun. I took stuff like racquetball, first aid, a course at the zoo, etc. It will help keep you interested.
- Take advantage of everything that offers free food or prizes. Go to club meetings just for free pizza, participate in activities to get that free t-shirt, etc.

Go to class! It's very tempting for Freshmen to skip out on class everyday since there really is no obligation for going. You won't get much 'graded' homework, but you will get reading assignments and practice problems, etc. Do these, they will help you tremendously. Also, your professor won't be writing notes on the board or overhead anymore, so get used to writing notes for yourself. Make good notes, because usually the professor will test from these rather than the textbook. Get to know your professors, the more they get to know that you're interested in learning they'll help you out more. Professors tend to give students they like more better grades--this may not be fair but it happens a lot. Also, get to know ratemyprofessor.com as it is very helpful for when you want to schedule classes. Some professors don't even bother teaching in classes, so you want to avoid them.
As for a social life, get to know your hall-mates and make friends. Keep your dorm room door open so that others can stop by and introduce themselves. Don't stay in your dorm-room all day--get out and have fun. Most campuses have 100's of clubs you could join, so find a few that interest you and join them. You'll make friends this way. You probably won't be making as many friends in your classes as you did in High School since most classes are lecture-oriented and rarely do you interact with one another in lecture classes. Party, but not too much, you (or your parents) are paying to go to college and thus should be your number one priority--so don't party right before finals or anything stupid like that.

Relax. You got in, for some that was the hard part. Don't be anti-social. Make the best of every moment. Make sure you keep your priorities straight. Partying is fun but getting your academic stuff done is way more important. Trust me, it'll be hard to say no to that one party your really want to go to, but there will be others. Try some clubs or activities, meet people that have the same interests you do.

get involved in campus life. join a sorority, play intramural sports, live in the dorms if you can. meet as many people as possible. don't take your studies too seriously. make sure you set aside some 'you' time each week. grades are important but so is a healthy social life. you don't have to go to keggers every night but try to enjoy yourself. these will be the best years of your life.
i had a lousy college experience because i never got involved on campus and never met anyone. it's my biggest regret in life. so far anyway.

with my being a college Sophomore...i must say that you cant expect it to be like high school...you really have to work at it. Professors can care less. all that they know is that if you drop or fail, its less of a hassle for them. Keep at the work and go over all you notes after classes, and not just for the first few weeks...every semester for every class. Don't expect to remember all the information, you wont and you'll pull off a C if your lucky. Biggest tip...work for it so you can earn it

Have fun. Don't study so much that you start to hate college, because college should be fun as well as a time to learn.

Make friends with everyone in your dorm. Get a car, if you don't have one, make friends with someone who does. And for Christ's sake...don't skip class. If you go to class, the absolute worst you can do is a C+.
