I'm crushed. My friend implied to my boyfriend that he was "stupid." He got mad, and thought I had said this. Now, he told me he was thinking of breaking up with me. Is there anyway I could stop this?? I'd be so depressed and heartbroken if he left. He's the light of my life. Thanks.

XXXXXXXXXXXXhe's hurt. You should talk to him and explain that those were not your words. I'd also rethink the quality of your friendship with your friend, If she were a real friend she wouldn't try to sabotage your relationship with your boyfriend, Good Luck Hun XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Tell him you didn't say it. Really, the simplest answer is usually the best answer in this kind of situation. If he still wants to break up with you, there's something else going on - and I would look at your friend who said he was stupid. "She said he was stupid so he breaks up with you" sounds to me like a set up for the two of them to get together or for him to find something convenient to be mad about. Either way, you're probably better off without him.

Your boyfriend is very immature if he blames you for something another person said. I believe that he is saying he wants to break up with you to manipulate you into choosing him over your girlfriend who insulted him. Call his bluff, tell him " OK I guess it's over then". If he follows through with breaking it off then he's doing you a favour, because you don't need his B.S. Otherwise he has you wrapped around his little finger, doesn't he.

Try and explain what happened. Talk slow and calm. Even if he gets upset just keep your cool. But honestly, if he is thinking about breaking up with your over something small like this a) is it really worth it? and b) there might be something else going on in his head.

if that's all it takes for him to want out, you are better off w/o him. and he is a manipulative jerk for trying to mess with your mind by telling you that he's "thinking about breaking up". find some one better.
