They don't NEED to understand, they only need to accept. If they don't understand, it's because they're closed-minded.
They only need to accept who you are, and it will take time.

They might never except the type of love you have choosen. But it is not their choice but yours do what makes you happy. My opinion is, look at all the divorces out there I think there would be many more avioded if people would follow thier heart and dreams rather than trying to live up to something your parents wanted them to be and something they are not. Do what is right for you and no one else. Good luck though I wish you the best.

Agree with Lei, they will probably never really understand because it's something very foreign to their way of thinking. What you really want them do do is accept the fact that you are attracted to other girls & accept you as a good person even though it isn't what they expected. That can take some time & effort on your part. Good luck.

Just give them some time to adjust. Keep being you and eventually they will figure out that who you are and the you they love is not about who you date. It takes time but they'll come around (hopefully). Let it rest for a while, don't rub it anyones face, don't bring it up daily and don't flaunt it until they have some time to get used to the idea.

When did you tell them? Sometimes it takes a while for someone to get use to news that they are not expecting. They may come to terms with it fairly soon, or they may never accept it. Although your parents may be different, pushing something on people usually turns them away. Let them come to their own understanding. Be open to their needs, and maybe they'll reciprocate.

sit down with them and explain to them that love is a natural and universal expression that you have every right to be experiencing, whether it be with a man, or a woman. and if that doesn't work, tell them to **** off and live your life to the fullest!

Calmly explain to them that you like girls, and you feel bad because your parents aren't accepting you for who you are.
