College parties?

Are college parties the best way to meet new people, or are there other, better ways to fit in? my worst fear is going and not being able to make friends but I also want to succeed and not blow off my education

The Pros and Cons.

Pro- you can meet other people.
Con-you can't really talk to anyone b/c the music is too loud.
Pro-if your a woman, you can easily hook up with a guy.
Con-there are a lot of sexually transmitted diseases on campus.
Pro-booze without needing I.D.
Con-there are also a lot of drugs there too, be careful
Pro-some of them are fun!
Con-people just talk to the same people they already know from class or they live with them---boring.
Pro-you can go to a frat party!
Con-frat guys are jerks.
Pro-it's part of college life.
Con-after your 10th one, they aren't all that great.

I had a lot of fun joining a club. I joined my college Student Leadership Club and then from there, I found people who played volleyball so I did that too. That is the way to go, you are probably going to be somewhat disappointed with the house party thing after a dozen times or so.

College isn't about making friends. College is about education. Since most people drop out of college I would say that this is one area that you should not follow the crowd.

Get your education. Go to class and study. You will meet people in the process. These people are likeminded to you and will make great friends. Even past college.

Remember, after college in the job market, it's not what you know it's who you know. Wouldn't it be great to know the really smart successful people in college. They usually translate into the smart sucessful people in the world. Or do you want to know the guy who can down 10 cans of beer in the beer bong.

Or better yet, BE the smart, successful one that everyone knows.

Actually, your classes or on campus organizations are probably the best places to meet people (not to mention dorms if you live on campus). If you meet people in class or in an organization (like the radio station or newspaper or acting group), you immediately will have something in common.

At college parties, it may be harder to make friends because it can be like "Hormones on Parade". Each party, each campus, and each person is different, so don't be shy about getting out there, but you may want to look towards events where people are sober to find good friends.

It's a good way to break the ice with people, though you may not find anyone there you like. You may get frustrated that you don't meet the person you want to meet. Probably have better luck meeting people in dorms or bowling.

Great ways to meet new people in college:
Parties- Tons of fun and everyone will be relaxed but who's to say they will remember you when they are sober?
School Related Activities- You get to meet people that have similar interests you do.
Living In Dorms- Get to know people by force almost. You're stuck in a building with tons of other kids. It's hard not to meet them.

You will meet people in college, be it at parties, in the dorms, in the library at a coffee shop. College is the easiest place to make friends and the freinds you make in college will be a significant part of your life forever.

The good news is, everyone will likely be drunk.

Bad news is, everyone will likely be drunk.

Try a coffee house instead. Folks will be sober and stimulated, and I often have livelier conversations that way. And less brain cells will be sacrificed for the sake of socialization.

college parties are basicaly a group of men recieving oral from a girl and in some cases when its more than 1 guy to a girl, they ejaculate on her face/mouth or both
