Does anyone know how to take a Ludwig Speed King Bass Pedal apart?

I want to clean it and put it back together and it has me stumped.

Ok...first of all, it's been awhile since I had one, and even longer since I took one apart. But I do remember there being 2 screws on the bottom of it (the part that would be facing the floor while in use).

Is that any help?
