I'm a guy so I should know.
we like it when girls just ask us!
it's nice!
and it means you are sure of yourself and that you are your own person, which is a quality which I, personaly, along with many other guys, like in gals.
now then?
personally I'm likely to tell the person, unless they are scared by the concept in which case I'll explain it to them very thoroughly, love, without using the all important words "I love you."
it's hard to do that BTW...

Ah-ha! Men have been doing this trick on women for 1000s of years, and now you are catching on to it.
We pretend we are just your good 'ol male-friends willing to listen to all your concerns and there for advice and all that crap. We are hoping you will either:
1. Hook us up with one of your female friends and be a good recommendation.
2. We really hope you will see that what you have always wanted was right in front of you the whole time! A good friend AND your lover.
Why do you think we hang around so much? We have male friends, we really don't need female friends, but we know how the world operates.

Trust me, you will know! Men that have a crush on a girl or like a girl will go over board to do things for you. You won't be able to do no wrong in his eyes.. They will also try to approach you in a way more so than a friend would do. Ya know, like write ya little love notes, send you flowers, try to kiss you, just little things like that.. ;)

Ah an age old question... you see the thing is, guys are very tricky, and they RARELY ever tell you what is on their mind... how bout you tell him and maybe he will reciprocate, if not, you have your answer...

guys are hard to read- they use less body language than females and often don't pick up on subtle hints and gestures. be up front, just ask him.
