They cannot be taken seriously in the proper venues, because they don't know what they are talking about, so they have to use subterfuge to spread their kooky messages.
But to answer your question, yes, it is very annoying.

That is pretty annoying...but even more annoying is a President who has his brother set up as the head of a security company for the WTC who in turn allows explosives to be set up all through the building. And even more annoying than that is someone taking out a 3.5 billiion dollar insurance policy on the WTC towers only weeks before an bogus attack and controlled demolition. And even more annoying than that is when that same guy makes lip service to the loss of life, he then turns around and asks for 7 billion dollars in compensation because in his mind each plane was a separate attack. And even more annoying than that were the put options on the airlines days before 9/11 and the evidence of insider trading being destroyed in the demolition of building 7. And to call up the mayor of Washington DC and warn him not to fly, and to call up Al Franken and tell him not to go to work that day, while not informing the FDNY that the WTC towers would be demolished is unspeakably monsterous. And to have NORAD stand down that day on the order of the vice president, and have all military aircraft grounded, and to suppress as much evidence as possible at the site of the greatest crime of the 21st century...that is REALLY annoying.
But yeah, let's all worry about the ****ing dixie chicks rather than the traitors and mass murderers in our own government.

Everyone has a right to be heard, although some do that for other intentions (popularity, promotion, etc). That is an exercise of freedom of speech, whatever the case maybe. Contain yourself, hate is a strong word and there are more important things to gripe about.

Doesn't bother me. They are very smart to do this. If you are in such an influential position, why not try to better the world?Maybe you'll get people to do something about something instead of just complaining about it. With all those people who read those ridiculous entertainment gossip magazines, celebrities could use political messages and have a lot of influence for good.

No, makes a dull event livelier. Express your opinion, after all it's being recorded and stored in a database, might as well make it something you would be proud to say.
I don't think the incidence of "Celebrities taking advantage of their public identity to promote something other than themselves" is high enough to worry about. It's not ruined any of my evenings.
Oops - realized that was not your question after my initial answer, - yes there is something more annoying - one of those giant pimples in the crack of your *** or congresspeople, it's kind of a tie.

Yeah, that stuff annoys me. I am not watching the award show to hear about politics, I am trying to get away with them so they need to shut up. They can talk about it to a magazine or something and I just don't have to buy it.

Celebrities have freedom of speech too. If you don't like it, move to Iran where they don't allow it.
