it doesn't put out any watts but,it does however pull about 60 watts depending on the speed and the bulbs you have in it if it has a light.You can drop that pull to about 20-35 if you install Flourescent bulbs in it.As a matter of fact you can drop all the pull on your lighting needs with flourrescent bulbs,trust me you will see a difference in your bill.

average ceiling fan? Probably the same as a 150 watt light bulb.

the average ceiling fan draws about 175 watts+whatever the bulbs draw

In fact most ceiling fans are installed in a existing ceiling light fixture... I agree with previous answer....
