3*(-2) = -6 {coefficient of x² *constant term}
think up two numbers whose product is -6 and sum is -5 (coefficient of x)
by trial and error the numbers are -6 and 1
use this to split the x term
3x² -5x -2 =0
3x² -6x+1x-2 =0
taking common factors,
3x(x-2) +1(x-2) =0
(x-2)(3x+1)=0
x=2 , (-1/3)

(x-2)(3x+1)
x=2
x= -1/3
Umm, I was taught a trick to doing ones where theres a number in front of the x.
Multiply the first and last numbers, so in this case 3 and -2 which equals -6. Then find two numbers that multiply to be that and add to be -5, in this case -6 and 1.
So then you would go
(3x-6)(3x+1)
But since there was a three in front you have to divide by 3 on one of them.
Since the first comes out equally, you divide the 3 by 3 to get 1 and the -6 by y3 to get -2.
Thus (x-2)(3x+1)
(in future problems if say you couldnt divide by a number, like say the first number was 4x^2, you could break it up and divide both things by 2)
XD
detailed enough? aha.

you're asking us to do what sounds like an complete homework activity. to boot you desire extra suitable effective notation for exponents. as quickly as you flow with x squared working occasion you will possibly desire to write x^2. i think of your question #a million might desire to examine 5^5 / 5^6 after which the respond is 5^(5-6) = 5^(-a million) = a million/5 #2 is [3x^2y^2/z^3]^3 and you're taking benefit of the guideline of thumb [x^a]^b = x^(ab) so as which you get 3^3 x^6 y^6 / z^9 = 27x^6 y^6 / z^9 you will no longer have the capacity to benefit this all from having others do your paintings. paintings as lots of the topics as you will possibly be able to and in basic terms ask people who're left.

3x^2 - 5x - 2 = 0
(3x + 1)(x - 2) = 0
3x + 1 = 0 OR x - 2 = 0
x = -(1/3) or 2
