As I have browsed through the link given by another fellow above, I would say that the Clean Break is a strategy purported by several individuals (particularly leaning on the West), on how best Israel can accomplish their political and religious ideologies through certain acts of compromise and less force. It tackles, most importantly to Israel`s real enemy (Syria and Hezbollah), instead of targetting Lebanon.

It has its pros, but still, it suggests using force in Syria, which, I doubt is more effective than the current situation with Lebanon. Its the same strategy on a different face.

If you're going to ask a question like this, you should provide more information - or, at least a link to some more info:

At the time I first posted this answer I didn't have time to completely read and digest the information - I only had time to look for it. I provided the link as a COURTESY to other people who might have wanted to answer the question.

I've now read the description I linked to as well as your link. I would concur pretty much with the answer below mine - same tune different key.

To Add:

The link you provided seems to denigrate "Clean Break" as some sort of sinister plot to foment a larger middle east war. That's not how I read it. "Clean Break" talks about trying to achieve peace - but on Israels terms (would expect anything else? Israelis want to keep their country - go figure).

The global research article states that "Clean Break" calls for "thrashing of all middle east peace accords, including Oslo". It does no such thing. It only states - correctly - that Israel has no obligations under Oslo if the PLO doesn't live up to it's end of the bargain. Expressing doubt that the PLO will fulfill its obligations, it talks about forging closer alliances with Jordan and any other people in middle east who are sympathetic to Israel. Most of what's in there is political posturing: Forging alliances, beefing up its economy, and so forth. In its conclusions, it does talk about "reestablishing the principle of preemption, rather than retaliation alone", but it doesn't elaborate. It goes on to say "No amount of weapons or victories will grant Isreal the peace it seeks" - an ultimate admission that violence, in the end, will not be the solution. Would it 'twere more people in the middle east thought that way.
