Get the SAE weight oil that your manual suggests.

Forget synthetic oil! Synthetic oil has been all advertising hype from the beginning.

Proof: If you ever go to one of the big auto shows where they have the people there that make the engines ask them what type of oil is best, I have. I am referring to the real geek types that design the engine itself. These guys know more about lubrication, heat exchange, particle suspension then everyone here on yahoo answers combined. All of them will tell you to use the SAE that your engine manual suggests. That synthetic oil is an advertising hype.

Now some people will say (because they heard it from advertising) that the reason auto/bike manufactures do not put synthetic oil in at the factory is the cost, or that they are being paid off by ‘big oil’, not true. Think of Mercedes Benz, an auto manufacture that will do anything to make the best car with the longest lasting engine on the market. Regardless of the cost to implement a change, they will do it if it will make their engines last just 1% better and or longer. Putting synthetic oil in their engine will void the warranty.

I know its strange to think that something you can dig up from the ground is better then something man made, buts it’s true. This oddity is what has been selling synthetic oil for years.

I don't know that brand matters so much. Everyone has something they swear by. I'd suggest a synthetic, or synthetic blend, though.

Check your owner's manual - it may tell you on the oil cap, as well.
