The corrupt have too much power currently. And as far as them fighting for our freedoms, I didn't realize we were in too much danger of losing those. Granted, we don't freely have the ability to say anything we want without being edited, reported, cut-off, etc., but we aren't in real danger of losing the full right to freedom of speech. There are no constitutional amendments in the works for that.
Many of the people in the services signed-up long before all of the current situations took form, and cannot "un-enlist." It isn't so much a matter of they weren't drafted, as those who entered earlier on, can't get out when they want. Granted if they had the type of money say, George W(ar) Bush has, they could. But then that falls under the fore-mentioned rich get richer/ rich get what they want without peril.
Glad to see this post.

Wow -- another Halliburton basher. You probably don't even know the names of the other companies that are providing services in the middle east on the same basis as Halliburton's Kellogg, Brown & Root Engineering Division. Maybe you don't realize that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers selected KBR-Halliburton and others like Fluor Corp because no one else had the knowledge and the capabilities to get the job done, just like when they needed wellhead fires put out they sent Red Adair's group. EXACTLY WHO ELSE DO YOU THINK IS QUALIFIED?

How about not being so freaking liberal and supporting our country? Haliburton is the only company in the US that can o what they are doing. Why do you think they have this contract?

They have been doing this kind of thing for decades, not just since G.W. Bush.

Our young are not dying for nothing by the way, they are fighting for your freedom! How free would you be if the terrorist decided to take over our government? You would be terrified to do anything against the will of terrorist and be killed.

Liberalism is a mental disorder, there is a cure.

Chicken hawks the Republicans don't serve in the military. Yes you are correct since they have none of their children participating. They don't care and just blog and bash the Liberals that are fighting in the wars they created just like Viet Nam. These people need to be reeducated and get a reality check for themselves. You wont get a straight answer out of a chicken hawk on-line, this is their war effort from their computers, to undermine the Democrats to keep this situation continuing.

I am sickened by the answers you have received to this question. If it was not so sad, I would laugh at the people who claim we are dying over there for our "freedom". Our Americans are dying over there because Bush thinks he is God. And of course because he needs the oil money for his "blind trust". Every crisis raises the price of gas more. Not the cost, just the price, thus the profits.

I bet Neil is wishing he had not settled for just looting a few billion from banks in California. Look was his brother Dubya is looting from the WORLD.

May God have mercy on us all.

Are you sure you are not benefiting from it? How many terrorists attacks have there been on the United States of America have there been since our troops liberated Iraq/ Afghanistan. And why do you only care about yourself. Think about all the people who no longer live in fear of the regimes of Saddam Hussein and Taliban.

As the father of a "young people" (aka: U.S. Army soldier) that is completing his second tour of duty in Iraq, I can, with assurance, tell you that my young son is not being sent over to the middle east to "be killed". He has clearly been sent over there to do the killing of the enemy. And he's doin' a damn good job too. God Bless you.

That's the way the world and Republican politics work. I'd say vote Democrat, but I'm not sure that they have the correct solutions either. Vote for a moderate candidate like McCain.
