Yes, due to the lack of communication as a result of electronic communication, entertainment and cell phones, the human contact between others will not continue. People will isolate themselves in front of computers and televisions and require the company of pets that do not speak to dote their emotions onl.

I think there will be. Most people have pets for companionship. I doubt that the future will have a solution to loneliness.

Oh yeah. There are some things that humans cannot live without because they enjoy them too much- for example, we will never totally subsist on pills because we like to eat too much. I think that pets fall into that category.

depends on how far into the future you mean. if you mean 5 years into the future, i think so. if you mean 500, not sure gotta wait and see.
