If someone says "emo". what is the first band to pop into your head? (the first one so meaning only one.) if you can explain why it is first to come to your mind please try and explain. but if you can't explain then you don't have to. Thank you!!!

everyone is always saying Hawthorne Heights, My Chem. and AFI... the emo band in my head is probably those also.... they are pretty good bands, most classify me as an emo, so i guess I'm emo too.... but, the bands listed are emo... they have the qualities of an emo band, such as, : eyeliner, sad lyrics, and screaming(screamo ☺)... so yeah, the mainstream emo bands.

Well, the very first thing that pops into my head is a 14 year old guy with a really lame hairstyle wearing his sister's makeup and pants.
When I hear "emo band" then Hawthorne Heights and My Chemical Romance come to mind at the same time. I know that's two and you said one, but they come at the same time so I think that counts.

I'd have to say my chemical romance because the lead singer went through an alcohol addiction (now he's sober) but with alcohol addiction there are alot of emotional issues that come with it. And i heard gerard experienced 9/11 which was why he created the band after.

I like emo. And I love Hawthorne Heights. They've been labeled as Emo, so I think that's why I thought of them.
