I have just been hired on a job that has a website that already exists that needs updating. I told them I knew how but and somewhat unclear on how to do it....

you can open that website or project from file menu in Front page and you can update whatever page you want and then save it and upload it through front page only.

I assume because your asking you don't want to use MS Frontpage. Frontpage still makes basic HTML that can be read by any webpage editor, and you should have no trouble reading the current site in any program... The only exception are FrontPage Server Extensions, if the site uses these, they are FrontPage dependent and will not load correctly in any other program.

The first thing U need is the password and login name to the server. Obtain them from your employer. Then click open web from files menu in frontpage and type the url( www.example.com format). U'll b prompted for user name & password. Enter Them and login. U're all done. update & have fun. I also update my sites in this way. U can check out my site www.bdmobile.tk

no sure how to answer, but there are many solutions to your problem that microsoft can help you with..

trying going to the page to find out more answers to your question, might be more of a help because...we arent sure how to answer you question. Unles someone here is a really good expert on frontpage, I only am on Office and Excel...

OMG don't even try. Frontpage creates HTML that's a mess!! I've heard lots of horror stories.
