Ok, I know the history of Israel and its neighbors, I have answered that question a lot. But what idiot attacks not only a clearly marked International Red Cross truck that is alone on a highway, but also a clearly marked, known UN Peace Keeping observer station?
Can anyone give me one reason Israel would have to justify this?

Actually, both of these were very clearly marked so that anyone flying a plane could see. All IRC vehicles are very clearly marked with a gigantic red cross on the top; you can't miss it.
I am not sure how the UN station was marked but it too was clearly marked and Israel knew it was there and so should not have sent its pilots (or missles) at it.
See - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14029827/ I'm sure it is also on CNN, but I doubt Faux News is willing to cover this.

Check out my answer to this question. It's almost the same: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ah.0JbnhP8RH9bgjSkqVsDvsy6IX?qid=20060725175751AATp6Yo
Or just the important parts:
I think it was unintentional.
Third, why were they there? Don't they KNOW there is a war going on? Don't they know its safer to stay out? When did Israel tell them it was safe to go there? They did not...so why would U.N. go there? To observe? To observe what? A war? In that case, it is their own fault that they died. I mean, yea it sucks that it happened....but I pretty much know for sure Israel did not do this on purpose.
Keep in mind, a few days ago an Israeli helicopter failed, and a bunch of Israeli soldiers died(my cousin works at the same base as the ones who died...and she's been crying all week). They think it happened from friendly fire(means that another tank might have accidentally hit the helicopter).
In addition, I don't know if they can see the Red Cross sign on the truck from where they are. Also, the trucks giving AID were supposed to take a specific route which Israel had given them. Obviously this truck didn't follow directions. Israel specifically gave SAFE ROUTES to which they were NOT going to bomb. It sucks that this truck didn't use the safe route...
It's most likely a mistake...not intentional...
Oh, also what the other guy said...I agree with. "Something" said that possibly Syria or Iran may have been trasnforting more weapons and is disguised as a Red Cross truck...i think that COULD be true...cuz why would the Red Cross take a route that Israel never said was SAFE? Israel DID give specific SAFE routes, and if they didn't follow it...then it's probably a terrorist.
I also agree with lancealot682005.

1. There should be no peacekeepers in Lebanon due to the fact that there is war going on.
2. Hezbollah is using civilians are shields.
3. Hezbollah is dressing as civilian's such as ambulance drives to avoid being attacked. (Trick is when they fire rockets from those ambulances, they get targeted)
4. The UN watchtower was being used by Hezbollah as a watchtower for them, not for the UN.
I can not believe that you or anyone else can believe that terrorist will play by any rules other then their own.
You do realize that the southern command headquarters was located in the middle of a highly populated neighborhood?
Keep something in mind, the terrorist are working a massive PR campaign against the Israeli's to help stop them from attacking.
Stop being so Naive about this and think like they would.

Unfortunately, they are dealing with an enemy that from experience we know likes to use Mosques as hideouts.
There is no justification for hitting Red Cross trucks, etc., but we face the same situations in Iraq and our record in keeping innocents out of the fight has been far worse.
Basically, anything that moves in parts of South Lebanon is or will become a target of opportunity.
Hezbollah wanted a war and they got it. Don't go crying to mama when they come with the fire. Reminds me of Wyatt Earp talking to Ike Clanton...yep that image really seems to fit this situation.
Hell's coming with 'em folks.

While to begin with Israel is not going to have to justify their actions at all, as long as they have the U.S. backing them. My theory is that Israel is trying to get all foreign civilians and observers out of the area so that they can begin infecting there "major" crimes of humanity against the Lebanese people.

Because the enemy is using the Red Cross symbol to move military equipment. Likewise, they are using the observer stations to hide and launch missles.
This is just a guess, but I wouldn't put it past someone that's willing to target civilians.

What is even more surprising is that CNN (read Ted Turner) is showing this. I can only imagine what is really going on.
