how could people say i chose to be gay?
how the hell do you wake up one morning and say "oh i wanna be gay today"
sorry people it dosent work like that at all

in case you straight people dont understand think of it like this:
you know when you was around 12 or so, and you never had any feelings for anyone untill you saw that one person (opposite sex)and suddenly have a major crush?

well thats how alot of gay guys (and girls) realize what they are really into. so please dont go around saying "thats the path they chose"

Honestly i think you would have to be CRAZY to choose to be hated and discriminated against (well it dosent happen to me but i can imagine it happening)

ok thats my rant for the day i hope that enlightened you people

face it buddy, you're a rough ranger. a fudgepacker. a gay man.

no one "MADE" you take up 'sword swallowing' did they?

it was a choice, you poofter. and you chose to go for the 'stink' rather than the 'pink'.

and you 'wonder' why heteros have such a problem with your type.

(jr is right tho, lesbos are cool)

everything is a choice....I am not saying every person who is gay is like this but...Tell me how it makes sense that a gay guy is attracted to a man who dresses up as a woman?? Or how a lesbian is attracted to a girl who dresses like a man?? That makes no sense...From there you can't say it is a sex that person is attracted to...Or even a personality.. Because men and women alike both have personalities that are a dime a dozen.. so what does it boil down to? You can say body parts... a gay woman can get a strap-on, finger, or a tongue to stimulate.. Same thing with a gay man who wants anal sex.. a woman has an *** too.. What i am saying is..If it is not a personality, body parts, or the sex of a person.. Then it is just love?. And people debate whether love is a choice or not.. This is a bit of a ramble.. I'm not writing a research paper.. But..a man and a woman can share the same qualities.. are you saying that you would not choose to love a person if they were exactly what you wanted, but they were the wrong sex? Through use of sex toys, and dressing up, you can turn a man into a woman, or a woman into a man.. what else is it then, but just a CHOICE to love that person?

It is still a choosen lifestyle, and not suitable as a stand for "civil rights". Civil rights were created for uncontrollable conditions and traits from birth. I've not heard of a woman who suddenly discovered she was a woman, or a "closet black".
My big question is this:
If it is no choice, what does it matter to you if I say there is?
Maybe you have your hair dyed black, for the goth look.
Maybe you were born a blondie. I tell everyone you were born a blondie, but you say, no, you have black hair. Dude, that is a choice, but many people try to argue about it. You were born straight, and you decided to live the gay lifestyle. Maybe you like gay sex better, but you decided to pursue it.
Don't act like you are disabled. Read the book "No excuses".
You own what you do dude,.

Many gays beleive that they chose to be gay. The reason behind it is because if you say that you were "born" that way, that opens the door for people to say that there is something "wrong" with you genetically or mentally. People will say homosexuality is a sickness or a disease if the homosexual did not choose to practice homosexuality. Do you feel diseased because you are gay? I don't think that many gays feel like their homosexuality is a hinderence. They like what they like and nothing more. Most of life is a result of a choice. So I say, yes, you chose to be gay either because you like it, or because it is easier for you. Stop crying about it and go do it to whoever you want. It's your life.

Can I just take a minute here to f**king agree with you man. I read ur question and ur statements and all I could think of was thats me totally. I read the first couple responses from those girls and it pissed me off. Why would anyone choose to be gay? "Yea, let me choose a lifestyle that is gonna get me tortured and ridiculed for my entire life! sounds like a plan!" Yea right. Im sorry, Im just very passionate about this topic. Im so tired of hearing, "its a choice" Once and for all....It's not!

I know I was born gay, because I have never felt otherwise. My first crush was at 5 years old with another boy. I fantasized about marrying him. Now at 5, I was not thinking about it in a sexual way, because I didn't know about sex yet. It just proves that emotionally I only can fall in love with another gay man. And another thing, we don't need everyone to understand us with their closed-minded opinions. Walk a mile in a man's shoes, so to speak, before one is even qualified to state an opinion about it. why are straight people and Christians so threatened by a group of people who happen to be very loving and compassionate, for the most part. I don't understand being attracted to women in the least, but I don't judge straight people for what they need and for who they love. Peace, man!

Thankyou

Really, any straight person who thinks they can say that we choose to be gay is ignorant. They haven't had to deal with the issues that come with realising you are gay. They think it's something we choose because they can't understand what it's like to be attracted to people of the same sex.

They really are in no position to know though. So if anyone tells you you chose to be gay, ignore them. They are ignoring everything outside of their own little world anyway.

Once again, thankyou

Well either God is wrong or You are wrong - here is what God Says:

1 Corinthians 6

9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

You say he is wrong - Yes you have a mind - and you have a choice - God does not create people just so He can send them to Hell.

I totally agree with you, and I wasn't going to answer this, I was just going to read and nod mostly in agreement....

And then Mr. Randy the Christian walked in.....

Ok, here's how you can logically refute arguments like these (even given that logic and christian don't always mix...)

Being Christian is being Christ like, correct? What would Jesus do and all that, correct?

Well, RandyMan up there quoted Corinthians, supposedly written by Paul, who didn't even know Jesus. He heard some voice on the road, and BAM! was a convert. (I'm thinking that he was already most of the way to crazy...but....)

Jesus wasn't shy. If something bothered him, he said so. He lived in Jerusalem at a time when it was occupied by the Roman army, which was known for its bisexual practices.

Yet Jesus said nothing about it. Not one thing.

anyhow, thank your for letting me trade my two cents for two points.

It will not enlighten them. They will come in here and scream bible and god and sin and bla bla bla. As if they're so perfect. Or the guys will come in here and say lesbos are cool but gay guys are gross. Quite the double standard dontcha think??? Oh, and yea, they just think we roll out of bed and decide that we want to be hated, discriminated against, possibly beaten and abandoned by friends and family. Yep, that's it. I just woke up one day and was like I feel like being gay. Ya right, anyone who thinks so is misinformed, and ought to educate themselves on the subject before they open their mouth, that way they won't sound stupid. If you choose not to inform yourself, then keep your preaching and your opinion to yourself.

to say you never choose to be homosexual would be like a thief saying he never choose to steal, we as humans have the choice to reject any thought that comes to our mind, the problem with human nature is that the first little though that jumps into our minds we run with it, i'm a female and i won't say that i don't believe the female form is beautiful because i see the beauty in it but that doesn't mean that because i see the beauty in something i should run with it, i chose to be straight no one told me that i should want to be with a man or a woman, it's a choice i made within myself without thinking about it, no one is born gay nor are we born straight, we just make a choice one day and convince ourselves that it's the right choice for us
