Addiction is a physical need for a certain stimulus, usually associated with drugs/alcohol. You can't just declare someone "addicted'' to video games. Now, if he was unable to stop playing for a length of time without getting physically ill and having true withdrawal symptoms, then yes, your man is probably addicted.
Have you tried sitting down with him and discussing how you feel? Don't go on the offensive, you're not having an argument with him, you're just explaining that you feel like he plays more Xbox than he spends time with you (or whatever you really feel is true). He'll likely go on the defensive (or may even go on the offensive), but if you don't argue back with him, you may still be able to carry on the conversation. Try to keep it calm and relaxed so that you can actually come to some sort of agreement or compromise.
Maybe you could have specific "no video game" times, where you two could spend time together.
Or, better yet, have you thought about asking if he'd pick up a 2player game you'd both enjoy? My husband and I play video games together all the time, and it's brought us nothing but closer. :)
Best of luck to you!

The man above is wrong, anything you abuse is an addiction. TV is harmful to your vision, memory and physical health if you sit in front of it day after day hour after hour. Be careful with this one, no one wants to admit they have a problem

If HE wants to stop and can't he's addicted.
If he doesn't want to stop, he's not addicted, but he is probably an idiot.
