What jobs are available for a 25 year old American Male who speaks Japanese fluently, Chinese at a conversational level, has a bachelors degree in International studies, and has lived in Asia for 4 year ( 3 in China, 1 in Japan). Also has 2 years experience as a sales rep in a Japanese IT company in Shanghai.

Advice appreciated

Your resume will definitely get some serious interest from employers. You will, however, have to start at an entry-level position and work your way up.

What field are you interested in? Sales? IT? You should look for career opportunities that interest you. Later, you can find out if your trilingual skills will be an asset to the company.

I was considering a job as a Foreign Service Officer for the U.S. a while back.

Im white and Im from a country where there are many asian nationalities, because its Australia. Koreans look more similar to Japanese while Chinese, especially southern chinese look closer to Vietnamese. The southern Chinese and vietnamese look darker as well as having different features. Koreans and Japanese usually are lighter, a bit more stocky, also the eyes are different. Mongolians usually have higher cheek bones and can have blonde hair and blue eyes and have skin that can look reddish or bronze in colour. Its hard to explain but I can usually tell.

Many companies are looking for linguistic people to open up units in foreign countries. take for example a Japanese company that want to open a unit in Peru for example or Europe.
go to trade shows in product areas that interest you. Good Luck

Work at one of the Toyota or Hondo manufacturing plants in Alabama or Indiana. They always need people fluent in Japanese.
