Something is knawing away at my tomatoes!!! What can I spray on them to keep the bugs away but won't kill the tomatoes...or ME!!!????

growing up as a kid and all through my life we've had pretty good results with a product called 7-dust, you can get it at any plant store or sometimes hardware stores. and it is consumable just wash your tomato's real good. Good Luck..Bill

I grew tomatoes several years back in my home garden. The insects are probably white flies. You can buy white fly traps at the gardening store or get a pesticide. Make sure it is safe on vegetables! Read the instructions CAREFULLY. You usually have to wait a certain amount of time before you can eat the tomatoes after spraying. Happy gardening!

there are specific bug sprays for tomatoes that will not harm you. I beleive ortho makes one but not positve, go to local hardware store and look in the lawn and garden section for insect sprays for tomatoes.

You might try a mixture of 1/4 Dawn dish soap and 3/4 water. I had gnats around some of my house plants and it got rid of those, Dawn dish soap also kills fleas on pets. However it must be the original Dawn. You can put it on newborn animals and it does not harm them.

Original blue dawn dish soap watered down of course. or Tabasco sauce watered down also works. Spray on in morning. also reapply if it rains hard.

Liquid seven will do it. Do you have a pump up sprayer?
