Yes... all status. You can get a watch for $2 to tell the time.

I do not see the justification in all the hype with Rolex watches. I have had my fair share of some high dollar watches, but I am happier with the lower end ones. I have a Timex Indiglo watch that is perfect for my duty watch. This is the only watch I have ever owned that I've never had to change the battery in, its eight years old. My casual watch is a Citizens and it does the job just fine too. And as long as I don't overwind my old 1950's Bulova with real ruby jewel works, it keeps excellent time and is perfect for formal occassions.

Well I do think that Rolex is so overrated. Plus if you have something like that you know it will most likely get lost or stolen. The most expensive things that you get will always get lost or stolen. I had a pair of expensive sunglasses and they got stolen at work one day. And yes it is just the name that people want.

Are Rolex watches overrated? of course....it's just another case of consumer stupidity in paying for a name rather than comparative quality

yes, it is just a status symbol among certain groups, the best watch i ever had was a timex i found in the driveway, except for the crack from being run over that thing lasted for five years, which is a record for me. The last one i bought was a $70 watch, I dont even know what brand it was it only lasted about two months.

Not all can get away with sporting the Rolex watch. Others can easily pull it off.

Why might want to all and sundry pay 5 or 10 thousand funds for a watch? a posh watch ticking away the time for your old age and ultimately lack of existence? Who of their actual options might want to pay that a lot for a watch??? I honestly have some watches. yet none are as severe priced as 5-10 thousand funds

Rolex...shmolex....
What exactly is the point
of spending the same amount
on a watch as you would
on a house payment?
A watch is a watch is a watch...

I like Rolex . . . not really anything about the actual watch, just reminds me of the men in my family (Dad, Grandpa, brother) because they all wear them (so does my mom) I guess it's a sentimental thing

yeah, i think it's just the name. like a Mont-Blanc pen. (did i spell that right?) it still writes if it's a PaperMate. Timex still tells time. only shallow women look to see if a guy has a Rolex on. Hey, maybe that's what they want.
