Longest I've gone was 4 and a half days after I witnessed my husbands murder, couldn't sleep at all.

5 days, without chemical assistance. I have chronic,
severe insomnia that started when I was around 5 years
old, and cannot be treated with conventional methods by
doctors. I suffered with it for 45 years.
My doctor used to prescribe killer sleep 'cocktails' that
would knock out a linebacker in 5 paces - I'd get drowsy
for maybe 10 minutes then stay up all night and day again.
I've done 5 days many times, but 4 days seemed to be
my setpoint. A sleep center finally confirmed my problem,
and the fact that drugs won't help. I had to re-train myself
to sleep by going to bed at set times and sleeping only
during those hours - if I didn't sleep in 15 minutes, I'd get
up and try again the next night. I started with 4 hours a
night, added an hour every 6 weeks, and kept a sleep
diary. I still relapse after 2 years, but am a lot better than
I used to be.
I used to joke with people that I had "terminal insomnia"
and we'd laugh. Then I found out that it's a real disease!
It's genetic and affects maybe 5 or 6 families around the
world. They just stop sleeping, and eventually die. I don't
joke about it anymore!
Lou Reed did a terrific song that touched on this subject
BTW, called "How Do You Think It Feels", but he had "help".
It's better listened to than read if you can download it.

About 4 and 1/2 days. I was working two full time jobs, and I didn't want to take the chance of falling asleep and missing or being late for either job. Needless to say I was sick after the first week, and Juan Valdez was a very close friend and I eventually passed out in one of the jobs breakroom floors. Won't be doing that one again, but the paycheck looked very good.

Around 30 hours. Afterwards, I took a nap from noon to 5 and then stayed up until 5 in the morning then slept for two more hours.

I went four days with no sleep at sea.
You start to lose your mind after the second day. And hallucinations are common on day three and four. I passed out at day four and slept for 17 hours.

I think it was four days but that was back in the seventies. Wow we had some times, and frankly some of that time was nothing but a blur. I may have gotten engaged, God only knows what I said to the girl; oh I guess she'd have known too! Anyway that's along time ago now, I don't behave in that fashion anymore. I get my four hours or so every night, sort of.

Three days without. I was having a problem with insomnia, and saw a doctor, to get a prescription of Ativan 1 mg. tablets. They are gentle, and small dosage usually takes effect within 1/2 hour.

When I was driving from California to Michigan living on wake up pills it was hell , but it made me think at the end of 2 days of no sleep why do people do drugs they just need sleep deprivation.
