It's tight, but there are still places and jobs. I know that the Latin teachers' organization has a listserv or two, although I don't know the website. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a job board as well, and I know on the teachers' listservs that I am on, we post job openings that we know about, so before you go for your teaching certificate, you might join such a listserv and ask.
You can probably join FLteach at www.cortland.edu/flteach and ask there for a link to a Latin teachers' list.

Be prepared to relocated frequently as school programs change. If you have a Masters or Doctorate, you could teach Latin in a university or college, where they are more likely to have a program. Unfortunately, high school students can rarely use Latin as a university-entrance requirement, so they're not likely to enroll and schools aren't likely to offer the program. Alternately, see which of your Classics credits could count towards a degree in History. If you get a degree in History plus a few Geography credits, you can work as a Social Studies teacher.

Most public schools are dropping Latin. Even some of the best have given it up. I would do some research as to the availability of jobs in that field.

Last I heard Latin was becoming a popular high school subject. I took it in high school and it was a lot of fun. My Latin magister was one of my favorites. Why not give it a try? Ad astra per aspera.

What High school student will register if available. You're better off teaching French or Spanish.. at least your student can go to Canada or Mexico to use it.
