i have one. how did your favorite teacher affect your life?

My fav teacher was Mrs. White she was my government teacher and I flunked her class 3 times. She was a awesome speaker and we had not one book in the class. She also kept me after school to help me out on my homework, but quite frankly I was the least bit interested in the class at all. SHe was just a interesting woman who truely wanted to help me learn that darn subject and later became a friend to me.

His name was Mr. Mild. He had tunnel vision. Mr. Mild was known for his unbending rules, curt answers, and high expectations. He would tease me about all kinds of things, but we all knew he truly cared about us. He made the advanced vocabulary class seem like the most important class we would ever take in our lives. Mr. Mild, a 12th grade teacher, hand-wrote birthday notes to each student and would have them delivered during another class. He made each of us feel special. I make a point of that when I teach. He knew to make the connection before any teacher was ever sent to an inservice and taught how to do it!

Ms. Willet. I was in her AP Eng. Writing class. She believed in me. I got a C in the class but she told me I should take the AP exam anyway. My mom and I couldn't afford it. She wrote us a check so I could take the exam. I passed! Afterward, I got a little self confidence and started doing A LOT better in English. I"m now getting my PhD. Thanks Ms. Willet!
