i need to know the right way to dress in a western wear pageant?

Question

i am going to be in a beauty pageant but it is western wear only. i have never been in a pageant and only seen one. im in a division for 11- 13 yr olds. i have been looking at pictures on the internet from western wear pageants but they were all for younger girls and i dont think it would be right to wear a sparkley little outfit. i thought i could wear a button up shirt with a white tank top under it. wrangler aura jeans french braids cowboy boots and hat. do you think that would be ok? i really want to win.

thanx for all the help. no i will not tuck my jeans into my boots. sheplers is a great place ive already looked there. no annie oakly or lonesome dove look sorry guys. one more problem. my younger brother is nto the whole cowboy deal and he says that i need to wear rodeo style mens wranglers and i say i need aura womens wrangler jeans. he said that it was a western style pageant and i need rodeo style but i said it was a beauty pageant and i still needed to look pretty and colorful even thought it was western. i am right...right? please help... once again thnx

Try searching for western wear online. Places like www.sheplars.com have online catalogs that you can use to get an idea what looks you can select from.

I agree, you don't want to go for the frilly little girl look. And for heaven's sake, DO NOT tuck your jeans into your boots!

Yep, I think you're on the right track. Add a western belt and a big western style belt buckle and you're sure to win. Try going to www.sheplers.com and click on "women's apparel" and see if that website gives you any additional ideas. I hope you win!!!!
