you don't ever want to forget your past....you want to accept it......a persons past is what makes them human....wheather the past was full of bad memories or good memories you can always learn from them.....there is alot of things from my past that at times I wish would not have happened but its a part of me and has only made me a stronger person because of it

I know how you feel. I basically just look at the people that make me happy and do things that make me happy, whatever you are into reading, writing, music, video games etc.
I also write my thoughts out in a journal so that it is not bottled up.Working out or running can be a good stress reliever.
Think of it this way, and keep repeating this: the past is the past there is nothing you can change about it. Someone told me:
You can never change what you started (something in the past) but it is never too late to make a new ending(here on out).

It sounds very cliche, but no one can change your life but you. You need to not just say that you want it, you need to be pro-active about changing it. I would suggest maybe seeing a counselor in which they can give you advice and point you in a direction, and there is nothing embarassing about it because a lot of people do. If you're a university student, a lot of schools offer free counseling, so see your Health Center about it.
If you're not ready to speak to a counselor, a good book that I felt gave me a start in making changes in my life was "Awaken the Giant Within, How to Take Immediate Control of Your Mental, Emotional, Physical, and Financial Destiny" by Anthony Robbins. It was a national #1 bestseller, and actually an interesting read.
Also, I think just making yourself do things that you once enjoyed helps. And I mean MAKE yourself do it. There had been a time that I was depressed, and I don't mean, "I'm having a bad day," depressed but rather the crying everyday and not wanting to leave my house kind of depressed... and one day I just decided to change that. I still felt like crap, but I forced myself to stop crying, go out and do things, see my friends that love me, etc. and I started to think, "Wow, I wasted so much time hating everything, when I could have been spending that time making positive changes to my life." Think about the times that you thought it was the end of the world... then think about how looking back now, it WASN'T the end of the world. You're still here, and it might have been difficult, maybe you're a little more vulnerable now, but you made it through. Learn from the past and make positive changes to your life now to ensure that the past doesn't repeat itself. Revel in that accomplishment.

i feel that way all the time! Well try to look at the positive things in life. Do what makes you happy. When i feel depressed or whatever i draw or write songs that helps me. Just tell yourself the past is the past it's over its time for me to move on and be happy with life.
