How come Mr. Edwards isn't married to Grace Snider in 'Little House on the Prairie, a New Beginning?

When you watch New Beginnings, Grace Snider isn't married to Isah Edwards. But there is an episode before New Beginnings when they get married. WHAT HAPPENED???

There was an episode where Edwards went crazy and killed his wife and some of those kids. I think the oldest kid was in college and not there. The littlest (Alicea was about 14 at the time).
