I'm reading this book for english and i just began but we were asked to identify 5 big turning points, character changes etc. plz help!!

Never use the internet as a homework helper!!!! When I was a kid there was a 'homework helpline' that you could call for free and volunteers would give you answers!!! I never used it because I am not a moron.
However, I would say the 'scene' where Holden Caufield molests Sally Hayes is probably the most important scene in the book. It causes both characters to deeply question who they are.

whenever I didn't feel like reading a book they tried to force on us, I'd open it at random, read that page, open another at random... and you'll have a little idea about the people.
Just explain well why you find those 5 random scenes important, and you'll be ok: it's your opinion ;-)
PS: I love to read, but I too hate to be forced to read something that I'm not in the mood for

This book is a classic and one of the best books I read in HS.

Buy cliffnotes or sparknotes. And read the book! It's great.
