Whenever President Bill Clinton comes to Canada he is warmly greeted and looked upon as a very bright man. The latest news is that he will be celebrating his birthday in Canada. Theoretically he could some day be a Canadian Prime Minister as we do not have rules here in Canada preventing such things if he became a Canadian citizen.

Since Bill cannot run for President again he certainly would be an asset to Canada because of the contacts that he has in the US. The Canadian lumber industry would have about 6 billion reasons for his help.

President Bill Clinton is an extremely brilliant, charismatic and fiscally conservative leader. Looking at our present Liberal leadership hopefuls and the extravagent (vote-seeking) spending by our present P.M. Stephen Harper et al, we would certainly benefit from a great statesman like Bill Clinton becoming our Prime Minister. If as you say, becoming a Canadian citizen is the only criteria maybe we should lobby to award him with an honorary Canadian citizenship as we did for Nelson Mandela. My M.P. and friend John McCallum was behind this award..

I'd have to say no, canada doesnt want him either. the more likely next station for Mr. Bill Clinton, is heading up the United Nations. which in my opinion is a complete crock! so why not let billy boy run it, give him a shot at some international trim.

Ed: How would you feel, his wife lost the nomination, and their 100 million dollars, is sort of depleted, out 20 or more. And all the pump & pious of living in the White House, all expences paid totally. Endless trips around the world, meeting with World Leaders. And the hundreds of insider deals. Maybe you never heard of the Bush deals, in S, America, land near our military bases. Remember the top spot, commands the best deals, all else is second fiddles.

I just wish he would move there, but not as PM. The Canadians didn't do anything to deserve such punishment.

Why in the world would anyone want him in any sort of office ever again? He was ineffective as a President, and doesn't know how to keep it in his pants.
