Sure, why not. I mean, it got better after Clinton left office.
In all seriousness, I think people give presidents a lot more credit than they deserve for the way the country is going. In Bush's case, it's really Congress that's setting the tone for the country (Bush has only vetoed one bill they've sent his way; the rest he's signed without a fight). In Clinton's case, the economy skyrocketed on the artificial hype of "dot-com" companies, and crashed at the end of his term when the "bubble" burst. Clinton had no control of either (although VP Algore has been known to take credit for inventing the Internet...)
The current economy is strong, and I expect it to continue to grow stronger over the next few years, even after Bush leaves office. On the flip side, radical Muslims have hated us for years (since the 1950s, if not before), and will continue to try to harm us and our interests long after Bush retires.

The havoc that the Bush administration has wreaked will take years - even decades - to repair. Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld - in collusion with the most evil, corrupt, incompetent, cowardly U.S. Congress ever to occupy Capitol Hill, have done irreparable damage to America's reputation as a world leader and global peacekeeper. It's almost like George H.W. Bush and his son, George W. Bush, have such a cozy relationship with China that they actually WANT China to become the world superpower at the expense of the U.S.A.

The same way with the Bush dynasty's relationships with the Saudis and other Middle East despots. The Bush family has played right into the hands of these countries; China is now the U.S.A.'s biggest creditor. When China finally revokes our line of credit, it will 'foreclose', taking anything it wants: our assets, oil, real estate, money, natural resources, military hardware, coal, weapons of mass destruction, - even our women if there's a need for them in a lucrative international sex slave industry. The Bush family has simply given up this country to the Chinese and some of the 'terrorist' countries G.W. so fearlessly opposes.

Our only hope is that someone other than a Bush family member (and hopefully NOT another Republican, and hopefully NOT Hilary Clinton) is elected in 2008...someone who actually can help turn our country around again. George W. Bush has committed atrocities that even his own Republican friends feel are uncalled for (just yesterday a Republican senator said he would introduce a bill allowing Congress to SUE President Bush for signing documents in direct violation of the U.S. Constitution).

We are one nation under God - and under God we must remain one nation. Yes, things will be better once Bush is out of office, but how much better depends on who replaces him. -RKO-

No, this whole facade was planned a long time ago and the agenda is set and Total domination of the world for oil, profit, and The New World Order is in place This is the start of Armageddon, and George Nazi Bush is the Antichrist and it should last about seven years or so and the world as we know it will be drastically changed and about 3/4 of us will be dead or we will wake up and start a Revolution and clean out the Skuill and Bones boys before they clean us.Not much time left!

Sorry, Probably not a whole lot better.

A force stronger than our elected officials seems to be at the helm of our country. Some think it is big business others believe it is our own military. Who ever it is they seem to have a good strangle hold of us and maybe the planet.

What is clear is that our elected officials are not responding to the needs and will of the people they are sworn to represent.

Still I look forward to seeing bush out soon. Hopefully before the end of his term: He has done enough damage already.

I would also like to see a change in congress, since they have supported the present policies: that are sending me and other Americans to the poor house. I can't see how anyone could support them any longer, unless they have invested heavily in oil stock or companies with military contracts.

Yes, and here's why: The world, really both loves and hates the US. They want to admire us, and for us to be just, and to basically practice what we preach. When we're blatantly hypocritical and fight wars that are clearly without merit and have a "with us, or against us" attitude, they hate us.

The Bush Administration, I am sad to say, is basically viewed by most of the world as a joke. Plain and simple. We have no more credibility left, we've reached the point of no return, and we need a real leader to be president.

Was the country any better when Clinton was in office? When George's Daddy was in office? When Reagan was in office? When Carter was in office? When Ford was in office? When Nixon was in office? When Johnson was in office? When Kennedy was in office?

Learn some U.S. history and then ask thoughful, relevant questions. A LOT of things happened before any of us were born...learn it. It will help keep your mind open.

don't kid yourselves. Well, unless you are a kid, then never mind. It does not matter if you have a republican or a democrat in office. Time and time again both parties have proven themselves to be endlessly flawed. The days of the honest and moral polatician are long over and gone. Even those that arrive in D.C. with the best of intentions are soon corrupted like the rest.

I don't know if the right word is better because it depends on who you are. If another Republican takes office there may be little change and if a Democrat takes office, it will take a long time to realize change.
