My cat " Doe Doe" Is so cute but she has alot of furr and It really bothers my possum stinky. I personally think it would be a great idea to completely shave my cat. Stinky has been getting sick and their hariballs in Doe Doe's poo are causing stinky to act up and shes not eating well.

Am I doing the right thing? Has anyone ever had to deal with this?

The needs of your possum should trump those of your cats. so yes.
I've never had to actually do this, but I've thought about it before.

well I have four long haired cats and I live in Texas so in the summer I shave them but make sure you do NOT shave their whiskers!!!!
What ever everyone else says keep the possum they are cool i caught one once as a child kept it in the barn besides if you let it go it would do one of two things one it might starve to death because it has gotten used to you feeding it or two it might become a road decoration and I'm sure you don't want that

First of all you shouldn't have a pet possum, it's a wild animal and u need to put in in the woods were it belongs instead of at your house. And I think it would be terible to shave all the cats fur.

So u need to take the possum to the woods and not shav ethe cat!

One might suggest that before you shave the cat show it this page:
http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/sphynx.html
and explain to it that you have found out that it is a Sphynx by birth and it should honor its ancient Egyptian royal heritage by shaving on a regular basis. Find some really cool pictures of the Sphynx and paste them on a mirror at ground level so that your cat thinks it is seeing itself :)

by all means shave your cat,
perhaps Stinky is allergic to cat dander.

There is nothing more stressful than having a pet possum.
You can never tell when they are really dead.
I buried six before I learned what pranksters they are.

*ohh and take a weed eater to that eyebrow eh???

I think the cat will be humiliated. Don't do it. And I gotta tell you, I friggin' hate cats, but in this case, I feel I must intercede. If you shave your cat's fur off, you'll emotionally scar her.

no it would not be wrong to shave your cat, it would be wrong to shave stinky. Just give stinky some of your chicken gravy i think that will cure him.

I have a possum, but it usually plays dead. Yet when my wife shaves her kitty, my possum gets all excited...
