Or do they hate anyone that doesn't believe the same thing. I think that is the case but I'm not exactly sure.

Islam is a political system as well as a religious one. Islam defines a world theocratic society.

According to Qutb, an Islamic scholar, the world would be utopia if every non-Muslims (unbeliever) converted to Islam or was eliminated.

The Qur'an says {English, transliteration, Arabic}:
(8:39) "So fight them (unbelievers) until there is no more fitnah (disbelief or worship of any god but Allah) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world)" ... "And fight with them until there is no more fitnah (persecution) and religion should be only for Allah"

Waqatiloohum hatta la takoona fitnatun wayakoona alddeenu kulluhu lillahi fa-ini intahaw fa-inna Allaha bima yaAAmaloona baseerun

As fanatics for their own religion, they regard followers of other religions as wrong.

They have a special hate for Christians and Jews because of (a) the current situation with Mulsim Arabia vs. Israel, supported by the USA and to some extent by Britain and other European powers, and (b) the long history of war and occupation starting with the Crusades in 1100AD, a very religiously motivated series of invasions of Arabic lands.

Muslims also have a fanatic attitude that representations of people and things are forbidden. Moorish palaces left in Spain are famous for their geometric and flower designs, since pictures of people, beasts, and Golden Calfs were equated with idolatry; Mohammed was afraid that a representation or symbol of faith would become confused with the thing itself, so the Koran forbids such images, which is taken to mean ANY images.

Hence the fury over the cartoons from Denmark - not because just they made fun of Allah or Mohammed, but because they were pictures of the prophet, something absolutely forbidden and considered a deliberate insult.

Muslims see the same idea of images in other religions as bad. They don't see a representation of the crucifixion or a statue of Buddah, they see a "graven image", that people worship a statue instead of the One True God. The more fanatical do not tolerate this behaviour from others, public or (if thy're really nutso fanatics) in private either. Recall a few years ago the Taliban blew up the giant 80-foot statue of Buddah carved into a cliff in Afghanistan, even though it was a world heritage site. The level of tolerance of a Muslim country determines how much other religions can show their symbols in public (I.e. crosses on steeples).

So, atheists are less prominent than religious people since symbols of their beliefs aren't on display; however remember that athiests tend to be somewhat outspoken about their views until they get their head blown off and learn discretion. The more fanatical Muslims have to see denial that God even exists as a more horrid and evil belief than believing the wrong things about God. They particularly hate Hindus, who believe in multiple gods, although the India-Pakistan tensions probably add to that. Their worst fury is reserved for Muslims who convert to another religion; those who explicitly deny their true faith are blasphemers to be put to death.

Which is all quite sad, because the original spread of Islam across the Middle East produced a relatively tolerant society. The conquered peoples of the middle east, Africa, Persia, and even as far as Spain and the Balkans were allowed to practice their faith in relative peace, considering the intolerance of Christian denominations. If you wanted to advance in their society or civil service, though, you should convert to Islam.

i'm ecu and that i don't believe of this in any respect. I extremely have extremely not in any respect met a Jew who hates Arabs (Hamas perchance!) and notwithstanding i ought to admit that the few Palestinians I extremely have met are anti-Israel, this concerns occupation and diverse the different moves of the Israeli authorities, not Jews (both their ethicity or faith). The concept is pushed by technique of a minority of fundamentalist properly wingers on both part that do hate one yet another and are very vocal about it and also, the concept is held purely by technique of a small type of Europeans. in reality, maximum of those Europeans are themselves Arab immigrants and Jews, who both comprehend no more effective constructive because of their journey OR evaluate their own who carry no opinion or are in favour of reconciliation as not 'genuine' (insert the following).

hoho, i think you guys missed the point here... the hamas hates the ZIONIST faction... NOT the whole jewish population... as for the christians, why should they hate the christians?... unless of course, the christians started the trouble in the first place... study your history, and you'll learned that during the christian crusade, you've spilled the blood of countless jewish and muslims... should i ask you, why did the christians hate us muslims in the first place?... and we don't hate atheists, at least until they started molesting our religion ( i think you christians would do the same too)... after all, in the quran we muslims were taught to respect other religions, which was not taught in the bible (as far as my limited knowledge is concerned)...

They hate everyone who doesn't agree with their ideology. Many of their followers also are Communist and Marxist radicals.
